Memories of You

I’ve heard it said that “time heals all wounds but friends, that is not entirely true.  Time put a band aid on  my heart but when a certain song comes on the radio, or I remember something he said, or something he did the band aid is ripped off the wound.  The pain comes back as deep and bleeding as much as that first day.  I know I will see him again and that is what I am so desperately holding on to.  Although May 27 marked the the third year he has been gone, it seems as though I lose him each and every day.  Oh, I have gone on with my life because I have others depending on me.  I have even laughed at times but the hurt never goes away completely.  I am reminded of him is something Nikolas says or Christian does.  I know that through them and all the lives he touched here on this earth, he will live on and on in our hearts.

So as we embark on the fourth year of missing you I know you are looking down on us and watching over us.  Jason, my son; Kim’s brother; Tori, Christian, Nikolas and Alyssa’s uncle we love you and miss you each and every day.  We will see you someday soon.

Eleven Years Ago Today

Where were you on 9/11/01?  This is a question that will always come to mind when I think about that infamous day in history,  This one event affected every citizen of this great country and impacted lives from that moment on.

During that black period in our history, thousands of lives were lost.  However, it did show us what Americans are made of—compassion and love for our fellow men.  We pulled together and  built beauty from ashes.

Now eleven years later, we should think back on those dark days and remember how we all pulled together.  Today, we should be as united as we were then.

What were you doing eleven years ago today?  Let’s thank God that He is always here no matter who does not think He is.  Remember, He is in control.

Life Has Been A Struggle

Well friends, my life is going in circles these days.  I cannot stop crying over the loss of my son.  Wednesday will be very hard because it is his 35 birthday.  My life will get on an even keel eventually but please bear with me until then.

Please leave a comment and let me know how you handled this grieving process.  I am a social worker and know the stages but wish there is some magical formula to use.  Wait, there is—God’s love and comfort.  I know it will take time.  I guess I hoping I’ll wake up one morning and the hurt is gone.

Please keep me in your prayers and let me know you understand.  I know I can talk openly to you.

Well, my tears are falling on my computer and I can hardly see what I am typing.

But I know that God is holding me up and He is in control,.
