Letter to Uncle Jimmy Our Moral Conscience

Dear Uncle Jimmy,

You, sir, are a self-righteous hypocrite. With your fount of knowledge on the kind of health care I should have to your “emotional monologue” about gun control, you show your ignorance about real America. You can sit high in your gated, walled-in castle with your many armed security guards and tell us how we should live. We deserve the same protection you and your family have. We just don't outsource our protection. It might come as a shock to you but my family's lives are just as important to me as your family's lives are to you. I do want to say kudos to Chucky Schumer on the effectiveness of the acting lessons he gave you. He taught you how to let the tears flow just right didn't he? Congratulations to you, the student, and Chucky, the teacher.

Now about Harvey Weinstein. You say in an interview with Good Morning America, he was not a friend of yours and you are not in the movie business. Well, Jimmy, that doesn't matter to me. You see all of you Hollyweird “celebrities” tend to cover for each other. You did attempt to make one joke about the scandal but even then you were taking aim at President Trump by aiming the joke at his son, Donald Trump Jr. So you see, you are taking care of one of “your own”.

I bet you didn't think or at least hoped that the video of your being a typical Hollyweird scum would not surface. You know the one I mean, that little game of “What's in my pants?” This was back when you hosted the “Man Show”. You took advantage of women by telling them “I've dropped something in my pants. Can you guess what it is?” You told the women to put their hands on the outside of your pants and feel to see what is in your pants. You even told them to use both hands and put their mouth on it. Some of the remarks you made were appalling. “You'll make a fine wife.” “You can get to the Olympics with that technique.” Jimmy, do you remember asking one woman how old she was and when she told you she was 18, you said “Good, Uncle Jimmy doesn't need to do time.” You, sir, are as despicable as the rest of the degenerates that populates Hollywood.

You may not call yourself the “moral conscience of America” but your friends at CNN do. Bill Carter wrote an article about “How Jimmy Kimmel Became America's Conscience”. In it he extolled your virtues as just that. You are being showered in praise from the gun grabbing er, gun control advocates after your “tearful” performance regarding the Las Vegas Massacre.

We do not need your fake tears or your moral lectures. When you can climb down from you pedestal, get rid of your armed guards, and live in Real America, you might just might find people willing to listen to you. Until then, stay on your self-righteous holy mountain and spout your garbage to your elitist friends. I'm sure they are waiting breathlessly for your next nugget of self-righteous, holier than thou babble. But I am not.

Sincerely,

A Proud Deplorable from Real America

As always you are free to disagree but I am free to express my opinions. May God Bless you all. Just saying.

Character Says a Lot About a Person

Now the whiny football players have enlisted their mommies to fight their battle. In an article by Conservative101.com, the Professional Football Players Mothers Association (PFPMA) penned a letter to President Trump telling him they “believe in promoting a positive image of professional football players as athletes and young men of character.” As a mother and grandmother I can understand the sentiments expressed by these mothers. All of us want to think the best of our children. However, our children are not angel, we all know. But it amazes me to see how shocked everyone seems to be about President Trump's term he used. People, he is not the first nor I dare say will he be the last person to use this term about someone. I am will to say, football moms, your sons have even said it themselves a few times. Now don't get me wrong, I am not condoning its use. I just want to point out I find it hypocritical to condemn someone for using the same derogatory term you have used in the past.

And yes, Moms, your sons have done their parts in social justice issues too. One of the reasons the players gave for protesting is against police brutality. What I find interesting is that many NFL members actually have criminal records—even repeat offenses. These offenses include drunk driving, drug offenses, domestic violence cases, assault and battery, gun offenses, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, theft, burglary, rape and even murder. That is quite a list, wouldn't you say? These young men of character have been arrested 855 times since 2000. This list includes 215 DUI charges, 99 drug charges, 96 domestic violence cases 71 assaults and even two murders. A San Francisco 49er was even charged with assault for beating his 70 year old father in a San Francisco hotel.. In case you are accusing me of dreaming up these statistics, I researched and found them at truthuncensored.net.

Of course police brutality is only one of the reasons given for the protests. Another reason is social inequality and oppression. These young men have succeeded in playing a game and becoming millionaires doing it. They have a great platform to use to fight oppression. Young people look up to these “heroes”. Why not go into neighborhoods and communities that are poverty-stricken and reach out to these youth. Start a mentoring program for these kids. Instead of preaching oppression and holding future players down, show them that with hard word and dedication, they too, can become successful. After all, I'm sure you worked hard to get where you are today. This is something you can do because right now your message of oppression is oppressing them. YOU are the oppressor! You are telling them, “You cannot be successful like me. Its impossible for you to even try.” Get out there and preach a message of hope to these youth. You just might be the agent of change that is needed in this country today. Think about that.

As always you are free to disagree but I am free to give my opinion. May God bless you all. Just saying.

Moms Are Teachers

What you teach your own children is what you really believe in.

-Cathy Warner Weatherford

Motherhood is full of hard work and responsibility but it is also the most rewarding job a woman can have.  We can do so much for our children by loving them  and teaching them skills and values.  If we teach our children to love God, we will equip them to handle whatever life throws at them.  If we don’t teach them to love God, the world will teach them not to.  Being a mother means being your child’s first teacher and the first few years of life are the most formative years.  We should be careful to pattern our lives in ways that they can see our love of God.  Children are always watching what you do even if they don’t listen to what is said.  I’m not saying motherhood is easy.  It’s not.  We fail at times, we yell at our children, and we expect too much of them at times.  What I am saying is motherhood is important enough to let our children know when we fail and it is okay to say, “I’m sorry.”  No one is perfect not mothers and not children.  But we can teach our children more when they see us fail and get back up.  Let them know failure is not falling but in the staying down.

Our children will remember what we taught them years after we are gone.  Let’s make sure we teach them good values and about God’s love.  Let them see us read our Bible and pray. Let’s talk about God’s grace and love to them.  Children imitate what we do so let’s make sure what we do is what we want them to learn.   Let the lessons be a natural flow of our lives—children know when we are not sincere in what we say and teach.  In other words, in order to lead our children to God, we must first live the life we want them to live.

The Only Bible

My goal is live my life so that others can see the love of My Father in my life.  I don’t always succeed but He is faithful to forgive  my failures.

I may be the only Bible

That someone else will read,

So take my life and guide it

In thought and word and deed.

Let me be a blessing

To someone else I meet.

Help me show them it’s your love

That makes my life complete.

Oh, such a sobering thought to think

Of what they’re apt to see.

Help me show them it’s you, Lord

That lives inside of me.

How Quickly

The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he reses in this freak establishment.  No the true measure of a man is this: how quickly can he respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give.

Philip K. Dick—American science fiction writer (1928-1982)

Meditations:

Each of us are complex and unique creations of God.  Some of us can interact easily with others while some find social interaction very difficult.  What type are you—is it easy to give of yourself or do you find this uncomfortable?  Are you willing to go out of your way to help lift someone up with your words?  If speaking encouragement is difficult maybe you can respond in some other way to assist someone in need.  Run errands for a shut in, take care of a weary mother’s children so she can recharge her battery, take a meal to someone who is ill, are a few ways we can help our neighbors.  Let our lives show God’s love through us.  Be a bright spot in someone’s day.  You will find the help you give will refresh another soul but the biggest winner will be you.

Think about it.

Footprints

You can’t leave footprints in the sands of time if you’re sitting on your butt.  And who wants to leave butt prints in the sands of time?

Bob Moawad—Motivational Speaker (1937-2007)

My Thoughts:

I want to leave footprints and not butt prints.  I want to be remembered by the encouragement I gave to others.  I don’t want to be remembered as a “couch potato” who thought only of myself.  What do you want to leave—footprints or butt prints.

Think about it.

Ease Heartaches

To ease one’s heartache is to forget one’s own.

Thought to be by  Abraham Lincoln

My thoughts:

When we look at our problems, they can seem insurmountable.  There is a story about a man that was praying to God to ease his burdens.  God took the man into a room filled with crosses of varying sizes.  He gave the man a choice of the cross he wanted to bear.  The man saw crosses that could barely fit into room.  He then looked over to a small cross that stood alone in the corner.  :Father, I want that cross in the corner.”  “My child,” the Father lovingly said, “that is the one you brought in here.”

Sometimes when we feel our road is too rocky and hard to walk, remember that man with no feet.  When we do not have the money we want remember the family that has no money to buy food.

Our troubles can seem so small when we stop to count our blessings.

Think about it.

Words of a Great American

Never be afraid to do what’s right. especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake.  Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.

Martin Luther King Jr.

My Thoughts:

When we turn our backs on someone that needs help we are turning our backs to God.   We are not only letting the wrongs continue we are putting scars on our souls.  I would feel better knowing my soul is clean than caving in to popular opinion.  I know that takes strength but my God will give me the strength I need.

Think about it.

Live Laugh Give

Another fresh year is here.  another year to live!  To banish worry, doubt, and fear; to love and laugh and give.

William Arthur Ward—Writer, poet (1921-1994)

What a way to live our lives—banish worry, doubt and fear.  What  a good example we could set for our children if they saw us love our neighbors as we love ourselves, laugh with genuine joy and give to others in need.  What a better world this would be.

Think about it.

ARE WE GOOD ENOUGH?

I found this on the internet. It ensures us that God can use us no matter how imperfect or incompetent we might feel.

The next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just remember..

Noah was a drunk

Abraham was too old

Isaac was a daydreamer

Jacob was a liar

Leah was ugly

Joseph was abused

Moses had a stuttering problem

Gideon was afraid

Samson had long hair and was a womanizer

Jeremiah and Timothy were too young

David had an affair and was a murderer

Elijah was suicidal

Isaiah preached naked

Jonah ran from God

Naomi was a widow

Job went bankrupt

Peter denied Christ

The Disciples fell asleep while praying

Martha worried about everything

The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once

Zaccheus was too small

Paul was too religious

Timothy had an ulcer..AND

Lazarus was dead!

And Don't forget

Jesus Helped them all!!!!

===========================================

Now! No more excuses! God can use you to your full potential. Besides you aren't the message, you are just the messenger. And one more thing... Share this with a friend or two. In the Circle of God's love, God's waiting to use your full potential.

Practice What You Preach

Don’t worry that children never listen to you.  Worry that they that they are always watching you.

Robert Fulghum

Too many times we are overly concerned that our children are not listening to our “lectures” and rules.  We so often forget that they are constantly watching us to judge what they should and should not do or say.

This story is told of a family who had invited the pastor and his family for Sunday dinner.  The father looked fondly at his small daughter.  “Amy, he said in a quiet voice.  Why don’t you say the blessing tonight?”

As everyone bowed their heads, Amy looked up at her father with panic in her eyes.  “But Daddy, I don’t know what to say.”  “Honey,” her father attempted to put her at ease, “Just say what you heard your mother say.”  Suddenly her face lit up and she bowed her head. “O Lord,” she began in the sweetest voice she could muster. “Why in the world did I invite this old goat for dinner tonight?”

Lesson :  We should always walk the walk if we are going to talk the talk for our children.

Father, I pray tonight that as these precious children you have entrusted me with, I will always let uplifting and edifying words come out of mouth.  Let me walk the walk and talk the talk so these innocent lambs of yours can see you in me.  I don’t want to do anything to hinder or harm them in any way.  I want to be remembered as someone that taught them about your great love.

Amen.

What Do Others See In You?

Every day you are being stared at by your family.
Every day you are being stared at by you colleagues and peers.
Every day you are being stared at by your existing customers.
Every day you are being stared at by your potential customers.
Every day you are being stared at by your competitors.
Every day you are being stared at by the public.

You are being judged by what others see of you every day. This is a fact.  Are you living your life so the town gossips are at a loss for words?

Dare to Be Different by Nicole O'Dell

About the Author:
Nicole O'Dell is mom to six children, including two-year-old triplets. She hosts Teen Talk Radio and has written several books.  She has a heart for teens and is a speaker at conventions, churches and conferences.
Synopsis:
this is the first book of this series, I have read and I must say I am hooked.  I love the opportunity to find out what happens when the wrong choice is made and the opportunity to find out when the right choice is made.
Ms. O' Dell's characters are real and credible.  She deals with issues that are teens are facing today.  Peer pressure drugs, alcohol and sex are temptations our kids are confronted with on a daily basis.  Lindsay and Drew find out their choices affect not only them but they also affect their families and friends.
These books should be required reading for all teens and their parents.  Although this is my first book in this series, it will definitely not be my last.
All the opinions contained in this review are mine.

Leading by Example

I think that as moms (grandmothers) we must let our children see us live our life to glorify God. We must live that life in private at home as well as in the public sector. I once heard a wise man say "live your life in such a way that you would sell your parrot to the town gossip."

Saying one thing to our children and living the opposite is only confusing to our children. If we tell them it is wrong to lie or steal and "bring home office supplies" or have the children tell the telephone caller "I'm not home" is only broadening the gap between a good example and actual living.

Our children have enough pressures and problems to deal with at school today without wondering why Mommy tells them to live one way while she is doing what she is telling them to never do.

Our children need us to show them how to live--not just tell them.

This is something I pray about every day and trust God to give the strength and wisdom to help my grandchildren see me "walking the walk and not just talking the talk."
