Be Positive In Negative Times

Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy. Anne Frank

Negativity seems to run rampant in today's world. Economies are failing; people are fighting; crime is on the rise and doubts and fears assault us daily. Our televisions and newspapers flood us with news of how evil man has become and we have replaced God and His wisdom with tales of doom and disasters. We feed our minds with a diet of instant gratification and selfishness. Our children are targeted by evil each day. We can see how modern technology has taken the place of family and relationships. If we constantly surround ourselves with negativity, we soon realize that people have stopped practicing “the golden rule” and are now practicing the philosophy of “me first” and “I want what I want now.” No one has the time to care for anyone else and compassion has been replaced with selfishness and self pity.
But we, as Christians, have a strong protector on our side. He is a father who loves His children. He sends us proof of that love each and every day. All we have to do is look around us. A beautiful sunrise and extraordinary colors He places in the sky are His message that He still loves His creations. No man can combine such beautiful colors and create such masterpieces as our Father. He placed the rainbow in the sky as a promise that He is here for us. He wants us to trust Him and know that He will take care of us. He tells us to look at the lilies of the field and the birds of the air. If He can take care of those, can He not take care of us? (Luke 12:22-24)
When the enemy fills our hearts and minds with fears and worry we just need to remember that we have a loving Father that cares for us. We need to remember His promises and turn all the doubts, fears, and worries over to Him because “He that is in us is greater than he who is in the world.” (I John 4:4)

Today's Whisper:
Look around and see something positive in your life today. Journal on how you are going to concentrate on the positive and let your positive outlook color everything you do and see today.

Today's Prayer:
Father, I come to you sand turn my fears and worries over to you. I cannot change the situation by worrying but I know that You are holding me in your hand and will care for me. You are there to catch me and protect me. When I hear the birds singing and see the flowers growing I know that you are caring for them and I know that you will care for me. Amen

A Storm Of Fear

Life sometimes fills me with fear and dread. One day not long ago was one of those times. It had been raining all day with thunder and lightning piercing the sky. Normally, I would not be so uptight about a storm but I had my van loaded with kids and groceries. We did make it home safely but were soaked to the skin by the time we managed to run into the house balancing grocery bags. I wish I could say there were no causalities in the mad dash to the house. But I can't say that. My feet stepped on a spot of mud that became slick in the storm and I am totally ashamed to say that my butt met the ground. I was carrying the eggs because I was afraid the kids would drop them. Well, I'm sure you can imagine what happened. Yeah, the eggs were scrambled in my graceful dive to the ground. My great kids came over to help me up and make sure I was not hurt. If you believe that you do not have kids, do you? They actually enjoyed the sight of me flat on the ground with water, mud and eggs covering me from head to foot. We finally made it into the house with no further crisis. The rain fell and the storm raged all afternoon with sign of letting up.
Once inside I convinced the kids to play quietly while I cleaned myself up, put away the groceries and mopped the water from the floor. It did not take long, however, for the fighting to begin. After stopping the battles and clean up their toys, we decided to pop some popcorn and watch a movie. When they were finally settled down with their popcorn and movie, I went back to the tasks on never ending “to do” list. I must admit I kept looking out the window to monitor the storm activity. I had heard tornado warnings but did not want to scare the kids. I silently up a prayer to God: Please watch over us, Father.”
By the time I had fed the children their dinner and had gotten them into bed, the rain had slowed but had not stopped. After the nightly stories, drinks of water and numerous trips to the bathroom, the house was finally quiet and I could actually sit down for a few minutes in my comfortable old rocking chair. I got out my Bible and started to read. Suddenly I found myself reading Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you in my righteous right hand.” What a comforting thought! He well never leave us and the only place we can fall is into His arms! Suddenly my mind was at ease and peace filled my heart. Although the storm outside was still raging, inside I knew were saf3e in His loving arms.

Today's Whisper:
Can you recall a time when fear gripped your heart? How did you handle it? Did you remember God's promise that He will never leave? Write out a prayer thanking God for bringing you through fearful times.

Today's Prayer:
Father God, I want to praise you and thank you for keeping your children in you loving arms. So many times I become afraid during the storms of this life. I praise your name. Sometimes you calm the storm and other times you calm my heart and give me the strength to weather storm. But I know that are always with me during the storms.
FEAR-False Evidence Appearing Real.
Amen

In the Wilderness

We all wish life could go smoothly all the time. But unfortunately we find ourselves in the wilderness at times. During these hard times in our lives we sometimes question why a loving God would allow hard times to happen to His children. He seems so far away and His voice seems silent. “Where are you Father” we cry out. We often try to solve the issues in our own power. Trust me that doesn't work. I have tried that and have only made more trouble for myself.
He tells us that we are not alone in this world and we do not have to fight our own battles. He stands ready to fight the battles for us. All we have to do is take His hand and never let go. When we read His holy word we find that the greatest people in the Bible found themselves in a wilderness. Moses spent forty years wandering in the wilderness with the children of Israel. Paul was in the wilderness of imprisonment and trials but did not give up. Even Jesus himself spent forty days in the wilderness being tempted by satan. What I have learned from these stories is that God will never let His children down. He will always have a way of getting us to the other side. We are told that the world will hate us. The world hated Jesus and he was killed by people that hated Him.
I have found myself many times in the wilderness and, if you are honest, you can say the same thing. But friend, I am here to tell you that I made it out. Sometimes I prolonged the stay by not listening to Him and tried to make it through on my own. Sometimes, the trial did not turn out the way I wanted it to. But I can say He always brought me through according to His plan. This has never worked. When I turned it over to Him, He was faithful to see me through. Remember, God will not take you to the wilderness and leave you there. If He brought you to it, He is faithful to bring you through it.
I wrote this poem in the midst of one of my wilderness stays and hope it will help you make it through your own wilderness times too.

When I'm, in a desert place
where fears and doubts abound,
I look up to Jesus for I know
He's already looking down.
When I'm in a desert place
and feel overwhelmed by despair,
I can hear Jesus whisper to me,
“My child, I'm always near.
I will never leave nor forsake you
though from me you often stray.
Just take my hand and hold it
and I will lead the way.”
When I', in a desert place
Lord, help me to see
that there are others hurting
even more than me.
So when you are in a desert place
just look to Heaven above.
You will see that our Father
is looking down in love.

Today's Whisper:
When we find ourselves going through a hard time, we should not forget that we have a Heavenly Father that loves us more than anyone else. He will care for us no matter what we are going through. He takes care of the birds in the air and the flowers on the earth. How much more can He care for us—His children? The next time you find yourself in the midst of the wilderness, stop and thank Him for the blessings He has already given you. I dare say if you can think of one so many more will come to your mind that you cannot count them all.

Today's Prayer:
Father God, I thank you that you are always with me. You are there for me even when I stray from you. You wait patiently for me to return because you have everlasting and unconditional love for me. I thank you that you never fail me even though I fail you many times a day. Help me remember that every wilderness I go through you are going through it with me.

The Days Ahead

I assume you have all heard of the proposed Civil War that is set on November 4 by Antifa and other hate groups. I have, for the last few days, felt an overwhelming burden to pray for our country, our President and our Vice President.

I have, like may of you, seen these hate groups in actions in several areas of this country. What strikes me is how young most of these rioters are. It saddens me to think how these young people are being used by people like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and George Soros to do their dirty work.

These young people do not even know or understand what they are fighting against. They are only doing what they are told to do by these evil puppet masters that are leading them to destruction. These evil puppet masters are trying to tear this great country down and, through their hatred for President Trump and the American citizens, are willing to sacrifice the lives of so many people to attain their goal.

I found a booklet on my dining room table the other day and do not even know where it came from or how it got on my table. I read the booklet and a section called “A Personal Matter” struck a chord in my heart and I would like to share a paragraph with you.

We need to feel responsible for doing our part. Nations are not converted as nations. Change takes place when individuals within a nation come to realize their personal responsibilities and when each resolves to do his part. As greater numbers take a stand the influence for good increases and the benefits multiply.

Friends, I think now is when we should all come together and do our part by praying for this country, its leaders and its citizens. God tells us we are fighting against flesh and blood but against the darkness and principalities of the air. This is a spiritual battle that we must all fight. We need to get on bended knee—not in protest—but in prayer. Satan has been loosed in this world and is deceiving many. I do not profess to know the day or the hour when He will return but I do know He is returning.

Father god, I come before you with a heavy heart and burden for this country that you have blessed for so long. I pray that people's eyes and hearts will be open to your calling. I pray for the many young people that are being deceived and lied to by the great deceiver and father of lies. I claim your promises that you will never leave nor forsake me and no weapon formed against me will stand. You have overcome this world and conquered death. Father, I pray for the wisdom to help others know you and the courage to stand firm in times of trials. I ask these things in the name of your son, Jesus.

Hypocrisy In the Media

Folks, I would like to give you a little test. A white man shoots up an all black church. A black Sudanese refugee shoots up an all white church. What is the difference? If you said media coverage, you would be right. Here is another one. White cop shoots black man. Black Lives Matter member beats up white teen. Again, what is the difference? Right again, media coverage. I could go on and on but I think you get the message.

It is a shame that the lame stream media only reports what fits their radical leftist agenda. Black Lives Matter protest cops shooting black criminals while innocent people are being victimized and shot so where is the media outrage? You are right. There is none. A small child is shot and killed in a drive by shooting and again the media is silent but when a black drug dealing thug is shot by a cop, riots break out, roads are being blocked, and more people and property are attacked. This gets all the media coverage because stories like this bring in viewers and raise ratings from the leftist population.

I believe it was Mika on MSNBC who said, “It is our job to tell the American people what to think.” No, it is not your job to tell me what to think. It is your job to read the news and let us know what is happening. I have a brain and I really can make my own decisions. God gave us all a brain for us to use. He did not say, “I will give my children brains that they can use until Mika comes along so she can then tell them what to think. Until then they can do their own thinking.”

If the media wants to be believed and held in the same esteem as the media enjoyed in the past, they should get over themselves and stop the hypocrisy. Do your jobs and report the news and withhold your political views. You are not the smartest people in this country but are sheep that follow the orders of the higher-ups in your network. If you stopped following the crowd and did your job, you might be a happier lot. I know the American people would rather you do your jobs and leave the decision to what to think to us—the listeners. I think it would take a lot of pressure off of you and let you enjoy your life much more.

As always, you have the freedom to disagree but I have the freedom to express my opinion. May God bless you all. Just saying

Over Grown Bullies

How many of you remember being bullied in school? How many of you will admit to being a bully? Yes, it sad to see children being bullied today. I have a child I love who has been victimized. Trust me, it's a heart breaking thing to see and experience.

What I want to talk about today goes above and beyond childhood bullying. I want to express my frustrations toward “over grown bullies”. I'm talking about Black Lives Matter and Antifa among others I consider to be bullying American citizens.

Black Lives Matter will protest and riot, destroying property and attack people when a white police officer shoots a black criminal. Meanwhile, in Obama's own city of Chicago, thousands of blacks are killing other blacks. Even small children are being shot in gang related drive by shootings. But Black Lives Matter are not protesting this. In fact, I consider BLM to be cowards. When they attack someone, they do not attack people that can fight back but attack weak defenseless people like the physically and mentally disabled people and even lone women who cannot fight back. You will not usually see a lone member attacking someone, it's either a “gang” of these bullying cowards or they will attack when a “gang” of friends are close by to applaud the bullying.

Antifa works in much the same way. They will only attack in groups and are careful to attack someone who is weaker and cannot fight back. They claim they are fighting against fascism and “white supremacy” and free speech. But what they are really fighting for is free speech for only those that believe in what they believe in and agree with them.. Does that sound to you like they are fighting for us? I don't think so either. When they destroyed Berkeley and shut down Milo from speaking there this shows me what their idea of “free speech” really is.

OK enough about these hate groups. Let's talk about bullies that are actually in a position to ruin our country even more: Obama and Hillary. Obama is NOT our president any longer but in his little weak mind he still thinks and acts like he is. He is bullying us, the American people, by telling us how great he is and how he is going to overthrow our President and change this world. He has already changed this country far more than I wanted to see. He apologized to other countries for American and made us the laughingstock of the world. He didn't get to finish with all the change he wanted to bring about to destroy this country so enter Hillary. She was supposed to pick up the mantle he started and finish destroying this country. That didn't happen so she wrote a “blame it all” book that is nothing but a bullying tool. She is bullying us by telling us it is our fault she lost the election. She is bullying American women that did not vote for her. She has even attacked Melania by criticizing her on her stance of school and cyber bullying. This last point would be hilarious if it were not so sad.

Well, folks, I know I am making enemies because not everyone will agree with me. But, you know what. You still have the freedom to disagree just like I still have the freedom to say it. What I have written is my opinion so agree or not but I will not apologize for my words.

So goodbye and may God bless America but more importantly, may America thank God.

Truth or Consequences

The lip of truth shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.  Proverbs 12:19

We all fall for lies sometimes.  Let’s face it—truth is often boring; it’s much more exciting to think our neighbor is a “wanted fugitive” rather than to know the truth that he is just a hard-working father and coach for his kids’ little league team.

Lies can be more believable than the truth.  We can believe lies the politicians tell us or the smooth talking salesman that hooks us in their deception.  Too often we discover  the truth when it is too late. The politician is elected and his true agenda is then made known.  The wonderful car we bought from the salesman breaks down after we finalize the deal.  The man who promised a good job leaves and does not return to finish the job after the money changes hands.  We all learn the truth the hard way and chalk these deceptions up to experience.

I have come to the end of a long and painful battle trying to dispel lies told about me.  Although the lies were exposed and truth was finally reve4aled, more people chose to believe the lies and I am left to deal with the aftermath.  What hurts even more is the fact that two of my family members started these untruths.  I know God is holding me up and has promised He will never leave me to suffer alone.  I can rest assured that although these people continue to prosper and live their lives without obvious consequences, the consequences will eventually come.  It is up to God to deal with them.  I am so glad He is in control.

I Peter 5:8,9 tells us the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.  Resist him, standing firm in the faith.  We are not alone alone in our struggles.  God is there with us and He will make us strong.

Don’t let satan work his web of of deceit.  If we focus on God’s love and presence, He will give us peace that the “father of lies” cannot take away.

A lie travels around the world while truth is putting her boots on.  Jewish Proverb

Never Give Up the Fight

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.Galatians 6:9

"I give up! I can't do this! It's too hard!" Nick slammed his math book shut. I stopped washing dishes and sat down beside him. After helping him for about 20 minutes he hugged me. "Now I understand and it is not as hard as I thought." He gathered up his books and prepared for school the next morning. I sent him to the shower before he went to bed.

After his shower and he had gone to bed, I sat down to relax a bit before I finished my nightly routine. I began to think about Nick and his homework. I realized that I too, want to give up and quit when success seems out of reach. Sometimes when I work on a goal and run into a brick wall I want to throw up my hands in despair. That is when I cry out to God, "Lord, this is too hard! I can't do it. You are asking too much from me." I often feel defeated before I start because I try to work in my own strength. Just when I feel overwhelmed with my endeavors, God speaks to my heart, "Child, I am here for you-- don't forget that you do not have to go alone in your own strength. I called you for a special purpose and I will go before you and equip you with all you need. Don't give up. You helped Nick with his homework and he knew you were there for him. I want you to know that I am here for you."

I would like to say that all my doubts were wiped away but I can't. Doubts still come and I still get overwhelmed at times. I would like to say that I never want to give up and reach every goal I attempt without fear. Again I can't say that. I still have doubts about my ability but when these doubts do rear their ugly heads, I remember I don't have to face them alone. I have a loving and caring Father who will always be with me to help me keep on keeping on.

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on one minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tides will change, Harriet Beecher Stowe

Don't Quit

Don't Quit no matter what!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,

When funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns

As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,

When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.

Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -

You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than

It seems to a faint and faltering man;

Often the struggler has given up

When he might have captured the victor's cup,

And he learned too late,

when the night slipped down

, How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

And you never can tell how close you are -

It may be near when it seems afar;

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -

It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit. -

Privilege is Not Just For Some

Well, I have to vent again.  I am so sick of hearing about White Privilege.  In fact I am so mad I could spit enough nails to build a house.  And friends in the south that is pretty darn mad.  I hear about how whites have more inherent rights than minorities because we are white.  Who is spreading this  atrocity?  I will tell you.  It is the white hating race baiters like Sharpton, Jackson, Holder,  and yes, even the president himself.  Well I want to clarify a few things that need to be said.  Not all whites were born in the lap of luxury.  I, for one was born into poverty.  I come from a family of six kids.  We lived in a small house with two parents, an elderly grandmother, and an aunt who was wheelchair bound.

We did not have food stamps or welfare.  Yet we had food to eat and clothes on our backs.  We did not always have what we wanted to eat but we had nourishing food.  We did not have the latest fashions but we had clothes even if they were hand  me downs.  We felt rich at Christmas and when school started each year because we could get  some new items and new shoes.  What we got came from the hard work of our parents not from government handouts.

On second thought I guess you could say I am privileged.  I am privileged to have parents that loved all their kids and taught us to love and fear God.

I am privileged to be adopted into God’s family.  I am proud to say my Heavenly Father is the only king I will bow to.

I am privileged to say I got a college education.  I not only graduated one time but I went back to college after my kids were grown and I was raising grandkids and working full time and graduated with honors and a second degree.  I got no free ride either time.  The first time I worked my way through.  I admit I had to take out student loans but they are paid in full.  The second time I worked and paid my way through.

I  am privileged to have the support of my family.

I am privileged to have five sisters who are close and love each other.

I am privileged to raise two kids and four grandkids and teach them about God’s love and grace.

I lost my only son two years ago but I am privileged to know that I will see him again one day in Heaven.

I am privileged to have a husband who has provided for his family the best way he could.  It has been tough at times, I will admit and it took both of us working to make ends meet.  I am privileged to stay home now so I can take kids to their activities and school functions.  It will not be easy since social security will be our income now but I have faith that God will provide our needs.

Yes, I guess you could say I am a privileged white but not in the politically correct sense.  There can be privilege for everyone in America if they are willing to dare to dream and work hard everyday to make those dreams come true.  Don’t expect to get anything for free.  Use your heart and mind and don’t be afraid of that four letter word-WORK.

Now here is my disclaimer:  IF I OFFEND ANYONE DON’T EXPECT AN APOLOGY FROM ME BECAUSE YOU WON’T GET IT!

Note to Readers

I haven’t been posting much because I finally acquired a building for my computer and writing related items.  Once I finally got it set up and wired with electricity for use—my computer and printer decided to take a hiatus.  Now I think I have everything in working order again so I WILL get back to my writing.  I know you have probably not missed me BUT I have missed you.  So I have encountered a setback I am still blessed to be able to have my own hideout.  So you see I am still living Life on the Edge.

I Wept

As I sat thinking
about all the trouble in the world--
all the fear, hate, poverty and violence--
I Wept.

As I thought
of all the children with no home or family
to call their own--
I Wept.

Thinking of all the people dying every day
from and hunger, disease and hatred
filled my heart with such sorrow--
I Wept.

The Son Still Shines

How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?  Proverbs 1:22

We live in a society that has tried to eliminate God. Children cannot say the Lord’s Prayer or even pray in schools anymore. The Bible is not allowed in schools but our children are being indoctrinated in the ways of Allah and Islam. Homosexuality is embraced while Christians who are embracing the Biblical view of marriage are being outlawed.  Christian business owners are being forced to violate their beliefs or be fined or jailed for their Christian beliefs.  In fact, Christians are referred to as “radical extremists” that need to be isolated from “normal citizens”.  Our government feels the need to protect citizens from these “radical, Christian bigots”.  Christians re being persecuted and killed all over the world while Islam is being hailed as a religion of peace.  The adherents of this peaceful religion are beheading “infidels”, raping and selling women and children for sex slaves and throwing homosexuals from buildings as punishment for their sinful behavior.

Celebrities who are too often seen as role models for our youth are openly cursing God and worshipping their awards and accomplishments.  On the other hand, celebrities who are Christians are constantly being told not to talk about their faith openly or being punished for their faith.  Tim Tebow, a prominent sports star was ridiculed for his outward show of faith.  Christians are being ridiculed while recently, a transgendered person was given a reward for bravery while the real heroes of our armed forces are being overlooked.  Our military has not escaped the discrimination of the left as they are being downsized and prosecuted for their show of faith.  Even chaplains in our military are being discharged and told not to speak the name of Jesus or say anything against homosexuals.  They are not free to do the job they have been called to do because it “might offend someone”.  Jesus offended people when He walked this earth but He did not stop doing His Father’s business because of it.  Jesus said that “if you are ashamed of me I will be ashamed of you in front of my Father.”  I would rather live my life in God’s will than live a life that honors man and keep God out.

People today are embracing the idea that man is an independent being who has no use for God.  In fact, many people go as far to say “We are gods of our own lives and there are no absolutes in this life.  If it feels good do it.”  People are more involved in putting accomplishments, people, and possessions in the placed that should be occupied by God.

Friends, there is good news for Christians!  God still sits upon the throne and He is still in control.  We can see His presence all around us.  Look around you and see how God shows us His presence and love each day.  Look at the sunrise and sunset.  No man can put such beautiful colors together—only God can do that.  No artist can put the rainbow in the sky. Only God could put such colors together in the sky.  He gives us this beautiful arc in the sky as a promise to His children.  He sends the sunshine and the rain to make the trees and flowers grow.

Friends, God loves so much that He gave us the most precious gift ever given to man. He gave us His only so9n to live among us, to die on the cross, and to arise again. He gave us His son to pay the penalty of our sins. Can you think of a greater love than this? I can’t.

People today may try to deny God’s presence but the truth is His presence cannot be denied. We can close the door and shut the shades at our windows to blot out the sun but the sun will still shine. We can close our hearts so He cannot enter but that doesn’t stop His glory. Nothing can diminish God’s glory and love for His children. It will always be there for us—always

A man can no longer diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word “darkness” on the walls of his cell.  C.S. Lewis

My Daily Vent

Ease Heartache

To ease one’s heartache is to forget one’s own.

Thought to be by Abraham Lincoln

Sometimes we are so depressed and overwhelmed by our heartaches and trials we cannot see anything else.  It’s as though we have “tunnel vision”.  If we want to be able to overcome our own troubles, lend a hand to someone else.  Sometimes all you need to do is to listen and cry with them.  We are put on this earth to help one another and this is one way we can help each other.  Think about it.

Face Difficulties Positively

This parable is told of a farmer who owned an old mule. The mule fell into the farmer’s well. The farmer heard the mule praying or whatever mules do when they fall into wells. After carefully assessing the situation, the farmer sympathized with the mule, but decided that neither the mule nor the well was worth the trouble of saving. Instead, he called his neighbors together, told them what had happened, and enlisted them to help haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well and put him out of his misery.

Initially the old mule was hysterical! But as the farmer and his neighbors continued shoveling and the dirt hit his back, a thought struck him. It suddenly dawned on him that every time a shovel load of dirt landed on his back, HE WOULD SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP!

This he did, blow after blow. “Shake it off and step up…shake it off and step up…shake it off and step up!” He repeated to encourage himself. No matter how painful the blows, or how distressing the situation seemed, the old mule fought panic and just kept right on SHAKING IT OFF AND STEPPING UP!

It wasn’t long before the old mule, battered and exhausted, stepped triumphantly over the wall of that well! What seemed like it would bury him actually helped him . . . all because of the manner in which he handled his adversity.

THAT’S LIFE! If we face our problems and respond to them positively, and refuse to give in to panic, bitterness, or self-pity.
