Let’s Take the X Out Of Christmas

Too many people are forgetting or purposely shoving Christ out of Christmas. This is a celebration of His birth. It is not known when during the year is His actual birth but this is the time of the year it is celebrated. Let's put Christ back in Christmas. I do not care if I offend anyone but I celebrate His birth and not the secular version of the holiday.

This poem was not written by me but it does express my feelings about this wonderful time of year. So I just want to say Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus.

Let’s take the “x” out of “Christmas”.

and let’s put Christ in again.

The day’s the birthday of a King,

Not that of an unknown man.

The tinsel the glitter, the glamour,

The noise of the parties gay

Have all but obscured the reason

That we celebrate the day.

We surely would not write “X-ian”

For the Christians here on earth.

Then why do we write “X-mas”

For the day of the Savior's birth?

It’s an honor that really is due Him

O’er that to a common man,

So let’s take “X” out of “Christmas”

and let’s put Christ in again.

Jesus Is the Reason

More and more we are hearing that it is offensive to say Merry Christmas. When we say Merry Christmas, we are offending Muslims and others that do not believe Christmas is a celebration of Jesus' birth. The former president of this country changed Merry Christmas to Happy Holidays and schools could not have Christmas programs or Christmas break. Instead, the programs were changed to Winter Holiday and Winter Break. The recent terrorist who strapped a bomb to his own body and attempted to kill innocent people in New York stated he was so insulted by the Christmas posters and decorations that he decided to carry out the terrorist act. Well, friends, JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THIS SEASON and I will apologize to no one for celebrating His birth.
I just read a comment that called Christians stupid saying Merry Christmas. The writer went on to say that Christmas is a pagan holiday. He suggested we read our bible for a history lesson. I would like to answer him but there was no place to leave a comment of my own. So I will answer him here. Christmas is to celebrate the birth of our savior. It is true we do not know exactly what part of the year His birth occurred. The date is irrelevant, The date does not change the fact that He was born of a virgin. He was born to take away our sins. Yes, today the world has turned this sacred time into a time when the retailers receive more attention than Jesus but that does not change the reason for the season. Yes, I read my Bible and it is all there. The 3 wise men did not stop at Walmart to get a gift for the newborn baby. No Mary did not register at Toys R Us for her precious babe. I just wanted to vent because we live in a time that openly defies any mention of God. If I have offended anyone you can read the entire story of Christmas in the bible. I suggest you read Matthew 1 and Luke 2. I suggest you read the CHRISTmas story for yourself. Now I feel better. I just had to get that said.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY and remember JESUS WAS BORN FOR A REASON.
HE IS THE REASON FOR THIS SEASON.
As always you are free to disagree with me but I am free to voice my opinion. May God bless you all. Just saying.

The First Christmas

I was going through some old poems I had written years ago and found this one.I hope it reminds you why we celebrate this wonderful time of the year.

The Christmas season is upon us
We’re all so cheerful and gay.
But too many people have forgotten
The real meaning of Christmas Day.
Long ago in Bethlehem
A child in a manger lay
For God sent Him to earth
To show mankind the way.
He was born in a lonely manger
There was no room at the inn
He was sent by God in Heaven
To pay the price for our sins.
The wise men came that night
Sharing gifts from lands afar
To see the king that was a born to them
For they had seen the star.
The glory of the Lord came down
While angels sang His praise.
So when you think of Christmas cheer
Remember that first Christmas Day.
MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS AND LET'S PUT CHRIST BACK IN CHRISTMAS.

Yes, Virginia There Is A Santa Claus

Dear Editor

I am 8 years old.  Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus.  Papa says, “If you read it in The Sun it’s so.”  Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?

This appeared in the New York Sun, 1897.

The primary model for Santa Claus is thought to be St. Nicholas of Myra, a fourth century bishop in Turkey.  He gained a reputation of be4nevolence by giving gifts to children.  He gave these gifts to poor children whose parents could not afford to give gifts.  He would throw the gifts through the window of homes where the children lived.  One particular legend has been told about his wonderful acts of giving to the less fortunate.  There were three poor girls.  Their parents were so impoverished they could not pay for the girls’ weddings and help them set up their own households.  St Nicholas wanted to help but wanted to remain anonymous.  Each night he would climb to the roof and throw coins in the stockings that were hung by the chimney to dry.  On the third night the father determined to find out the identity of their benefactor.  He caught St. Nicholas as he was throwing the coins down the chimney.  He asked the father to keep his secret but the father was so overcome he could not keep from telling everyone.

Although the original  idea of Santa Claus began with a real man, different cultures have added their own ideas of this gift-giving legend.  Scandinavians brought the idea of gift-giving elves.  Germans brought the idea of decorated trees and Christ Kindlein.*

Throughout history the idea of a gift-giving jolly fat man with elves and reindeer has evolved into what we see today as the likeness of Santa Claus.

My answer to Virginia is –Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus but he does not look like the man we see depicted in commercials today.  The true spirit of Santa Claus is St. Nicholas, a bishop from Turkey who became known for his love of children and benevolent nature.

Freedom From What?

Choose you this day whom ye will serve…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.  Joshua 24:15

We no longer do this for fear of Offending Someone !!! Let's see how many Americans will re-post this. United Faith Network

Friends, I am confused.  About as confused as a blonde looking for a “WE” in an “M&M” factory. It appears there is a group going around calling itself the Freedom FROM Religion Foundation.  Fine, if you want to call yourself Freedom From Human Race Foundation go for it.But this group is allowing satanists to put up a display of a Bible verse and an angel falling into hell next to a nativity scene.  What’s with that?  OK we Christians don’t want to offend the satanists.  Only God can do that.  The basis for this “dumb” decision is “we don’t want to offend anyone.”  Ok fine.  But why is this same group of “brainless” people telling Christians we can’t put up nativity scenes because it will offend atheists.  We can’t say Merry Christmas because it offends muslims.   Our kids can’t pray or say the pledge to OUR flag because it might offend someone.  Come on people—WAKE UP.  To paraphrase the Bard of Avon from one his greatest plays—Evil by any other name would smell just as rotten.  Of course Shakespeare was talking about a rose smelling sweet.  But I think you can see the difference.

This country was founded on Freedom OF Religion not freedom FROM religion.  There can’t possibly be freedom from religion anyway.  Satanism is a religion worshipping satan.  Muslims practice Islam and worship allah.  Atheists worship who knows what-themselves maybe.  If a group wanted to start a religion of the first church of Wal-Mart and worship Wal-Mart they have that right.  But don’t try to force me to stop worshipping God because it offends someone.  It offends me when someone tries to tell me how, who, and when to worship.

Christianity to me is more than a mere religion.  It’s a way of life and a relationship with my Heavenly Father.  Let me tell you there is no better relationship than that.

Now that I have vented, I am going to eat my bacon and eggs.  Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS in this nation under God and may God bless us each and every one.

First Christmas in Heaven

I found this and want to dedicate this to everyone that is missing someone this Christmas.  I can just see my son singing with the angels and know I will celebrate Christmas with him again one day.

I've had my first Christmas in heaven.

A glorious, wondrous day!

I stood with saints of the ages

Who found Christ, the Truth, and the Way.

I sang with the heavenly choir;

Just think! I, who so long to sing!

And oh! what celestial music

We brought to our Saviour and King!

We sang the glad songs of redemption,

How Jesus to Bethlehem came,

And how they had called His name Jesus,

That all might be saved through His name.

We sang once again with the angels,

The song that they sang that blest morn,

When shepherds first heard the glad story

That Jesus, the Saviour, was born.

o, dear one, I wish you had been here;

No Christmas on earth could compare

With all the rapture and glory

We witnessed in Heaven so fair.

You know how I always loved Christmas;

It seemed such a wonderful day,

With all of my loved ones around me.,

The children so happy and gay.

Yes, now I can see why I loved it,

and, oh, what a joy it will be,

When all of my loved ones are with me,

To share in the glories I see.

So, dear ones on earth, here’s my greeting;

Look up till the day dawn appears,

and oh, what a Christmas awaits us

Beyond all our partings and tears.

As The Purse Is Emptied

As the purse is emptied, the heart is filled.

Thought to be by Victor Hugo

How true this is is at this time of year.  We all love to see the joy and happiness on our loved ones’ faces as the presents are opened.  But let’s not forget to give the ones that are free to give:  our time, our love and our hearts.  There is still one present for all of to receive—the gift of eternal life given to us by the birth of God’s own son.

Merry Christmas to all my family and friends.  May you receive blessings in abundance.

Think about it.

Jesus and Santa Claus

386354_308814325805678_1107439062_n[1]

Jesus: Santa.

Santa: Yes?
Jesus: I'm sad.
Santa: Why are you sad? It's Christmas, right? It's your Birthday!
Jesus: Yeah. That's the point!
Santa: What do you mean?
Jesus: Because whenever it is Christmas the kids only wait in line for you and NOT for Me! They only celebrate Christmas because of you! Why Santa? why not JESUS!!!??
The purpose to celebrate Christmas is for JESUS and not for Santa.
Let’s Wish JESUS a Happy Birthday! HE died for us so that we will NOT lose eternal Heaven!
