Too Busy

Children are children for only a little while. Let's enjoy their childhood with them and not push them to grow up too soon.

The little boy said,
“Daddy, play a game with me.”
The father said,
“Not now, son. I’m just too busy.”
The little girl said,
“Mommy, read a book to me.”
The mother said, “I’m busy.
Please don’t bother me.”
The children now are grown—
For time has passed you see.
The words “too busy” I once spoke to them
They now speak to me.

Be a Blessing

Let us endeavor so to live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry.

Thought to be by Mark Twain

Reflection:

Each of us has one life to live.  Let’s live that life for the good of all that we come in contact with.  Do we want to be remembered for the selfish things we did or the integrity we pass on to others.  Although we only have one physical life, we will live on in the memories and minds of others.  Instead of living a life full of hate and despair, let’s leave the world better off by our being in it.

What We Do For Others

What we have for ourselves alone dies with us; what we4 have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.

Thought to be by Albert Pike

My thoughts:

What kind of legacy do you want to leave?  Do you want to die and be forgotten because you did nothing for someone else or do you want to be forever remembered for your acts of love and compassion.  If we only do things to benefit ourselves our rewards will be “burned like chafe” but if we do things to benefit others we will live forever in the hearts and minds of the ones we leave behind.

Today, ask yourself a question.  Is the act going to benefit me only or will it benefit someone else too?:

Think about it.

Honor Your Grandparents

Today is Grandparents’ Day.  I am not fortunate enough to have any living grandparents.  But I do honor them through my prayers and thoughts.  If I can be half the grandmother to my grands and mine were to me I would consider my job as grand a success.

I want to say thank you to all grandparents out there and especially to the grandparents raising their grands, as I am.  This day to all of us is like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day as well

Comment and let me know how you are spending today.  I am in prayer for all of you.

I pray today that God continues to give me strength to bring up these kids and leave e a godly legacy for them.

Eternal Investment

If you write upon paper, a careless hand may destroy it.

If you write upon parchment, the dust of the centuries may gather over it.

If you write upon marble, the moss may cover it and the elements may erase it.

If you grave your thoughts with a pen of iron upon the granite cliff, in the slow revolving years it shall wear away and when the earth melts, your writing will perish.

Write then, upon the heart of a youth.

There engrave your thoughts and they shall endure when the world shall pass away and the stars shall fall, and time shall be no more.

For the heart is immortal and your words written there shall live through eternity.
