I Wept

As I sat thinking
about all the trouble in the world--
all the fear, hate, poverty and violence--
I Wept.

As I thought
of all the children with no home or family
to call their own--
I Wept.

Thinking of all the people dying every day
from and hunger, disease and hatred
filled my heart with such sorrow--
I Wept.
