Vacation
Another year has reached its end
And school is out once more.
No children’s voices in the hall
No footsteps on the floor.
No more bells to start a class
Or call the wanderers in.
No more harried teacher’s voice
To be heard above the din.
But we’re all ready for a rest,
As we call “good-bye” to all.
One last sound echoes through the door—
“I’ll see you in the fall.”
